Lost with no compass
No means to return
No northern star to guide me
No road sign or map
Now there's no turning back
No footprints behind me
No breadcrumbs to follow
No broken twig
Or worn down path
I'm turning in circles
With both eyes covered
And now I'm left wondering
"Where next?"

Forever You and Me
I cry myself to sleep each night
And dream of days gone quickly by
A touch, a glance
This missed second chance
At true love and romance
That moment has passed and I am
Left wondering what could have been
My misspent youth
The choices we choose
And what I did then lose
One day I hope to turn and see
With outstretched arms you standing there
Your smiling face
My tear stricken haze
In love we do embrace
To call you mine for years I yearn
To wake beside you every morn
We will soon see
Together we'll be
Forever you and me
And dream of days gone quickly by
A touch, a glance
This missed second chance
At true love and romance
That moment has passed and I am
Left wondering what could have been
My misspent youth
The choices we choose
And what I did then lose
One day I hope to turn and see
With outstretched arms you standing there
Your smiling face
My tear stricken haze
In love we do embrace
To call you mine for years I yearn
To wake beside you every morn
We will soon see
Together we'll be
Forever you and me
The Lighthouse
Alone out in the fog
No light to shine the way
No waves crash upon me
This is how I spend my days
I'm lost and forgotten
With no ship to protect
Frigid waters surround me
Empty cold winds caress
The rocky cliffs before me
An end I cannot reach
To sink deep within this ocean
And then wash up on this beach
I am the lowly lighthouse
No keeper to take care
I'm broken, left in darkness
This burden's mine to bear
No light to shine the way
No waves crash upon me
This is how I spend my days
I'm lost and forgotten
With no ship to protect
Frigid waters surround me
Empty cold winds caress
The rocky cliffs before me
An end I cannot reach
To sink deep within this ocean
And then wash up on this beach
I am the lowly lighthouse
No keeper to take care
I'm broken, left in darkness
This burden's mine to bear

36. Night Song (Dec 31)
The mist of the night air
Blankets my skin
As dew tiptoes on my face
The night sky twinkles
Stars mischievously play
As the moon watches overall
The breeze waltzes with the trees
Leaves are dipped and spun
As dance and song is brought to all
I lie here on the ground
My eyes are closed
As I look inside to the night sky
The babbling brook speaks
Sweet words of solitude
As frogs join in the song of wild
The crickets jump and sing
Owls make their flight
As they all are merry with life
I open my ears to the world
I feel and see all that’s here
As they dance and sing around me
On the grass I rest
With all my new little friends
We listen and speak of what’s to come
This is the time of all things great
Where peace and joy reign supreme
And where morning brings the end
Blankets my skin
As dew tiptoes on my face
The night sky twinkles
Stars mischievously play
As the moon watches overall
The breeze waltzes with the trees
Leaves are dipped and spun
As dance and song is brought to all
I lie here on the ground
My eyes are closed
As I look inside to the night sky
The babbling brook speaks
Sweet words of solitude
As frogs join in the song of wild
The crickets jump and sing
Owls make their flight
As they all are merry with life
I open my ears to the world
I feel and see all that’s here
As they dance and sing around me
On the grass I rest
With all my new little friends
We listen and speak of what’s to come
This is the time of all things great
Where peace and joy reign supreme
And where morning brings the end
35. Lady of the Lake (Dec 30)
Like the lady of the lake
I live in the waters
My home is a reflection
Of truth in the world
My world a place of absolute truth
Reflections that tell all
Reflections that do no false
In light I hide below surface
But at night I come alive
Dancing under the moon’s light
Using the stars’ reflection as my guide
This is the lost place of magic
It has been left to here
Once prevalent in everything
It’s now just here hiding from disbelief
I am the lady of the lake
Keeper of all magic left
Above the surface you only see your reflection
While below I stare back with envy
34. I, the Creator (Dec 29)
I am a legend
A fable, a myth
I am the keeper
Of all that is
I created the world
And every place known
I molded your skin
I shaped your bones
There was nothing before me
I did come first
I feed the hungry
I quench their thirst
From the moment time started
Someone always believed
In me they took shelter
Their pain I relieved
I took part of me
And made each a soul
Then a breath gave them life
This made them whole
Good in the beginning
By all innocence was had
If they fell into darkness
Their hearts did turn bad
The world had to be balanced
I created the night
Good had to have something
For it to fight
Night has the day
Water has the land
Good has the bad
All made by my hand
I live in the skies
The sea and the earth
You will meet me at death
And say goodbye at birth
33. I Call for You (Dec 28)
Through trees and vines and rocks and roots
Through the thickest brush and undergrowth
I call for you
I pray you make haste
And rescue me
From these shadows unveiled
Myself realized under evening skies
Stars twinkle giving hint to the truth
Which is only unveiled when shadows walk
To have the clouds parted
To have the very darkness of night sky
Be moved to show me the way
I call for you
Through the thickest brush and undergrowth
Through trees and vines and rocks and roots
