Light shines down
As I look on
Waiting for my cue
The audience waits
For me to start
And my act I will soon do
The music starts
The curtain lifts
And I begin to dance
To the beat of the drum
And the sound of the horn
All entwined in sweet romance
Everyone cheers
As I dance and sing
Happiness fills the room
The music fades
The lights start to dim
I awake to what is true
I’m paralyzed
From waist to feet
Have been since my birth
In this bed
I will forever lie
Being nothing of any worth
