5. Fading (Nov 30)

I once knew a man
His hair was graying
His face worn by age
His hands, his body
Were fragile and weak
His mind tattered and torn
He had lived a life
Of solitude and ill regret
With death forever by his side

A lifetime captured in time
And one day he said goodbye
Accepting death and its love for him
The love they forever shared
When he turned his back
On life at birth
Immediately fading into the gray

This man I know, I knew
This man was much like me
And I too soon will be
That same man of gray
Forever waiting for that day
When death becomes of me
